Description: The Advanced Placement Psychology course is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Students are exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with the major subfields within psychology. They will also learn about the ethics and methods psychologists use in their science and practice. In May, the students will take an Advanced Placement Psychology Examination to qualify for advanced standing and/ or credit in college.

Summer Assignment 2020:
The summer assignment for AP Psychology requires you review the following basic terms related to psychological and scientific research. Many of these terms should be familiar, although some are more directly related to psychological research. At the bottom of this document is a list of resources that you may want to use to help you review these terms, although you could use any credible and scholarly source. For each term, make a handwritten flash card that includes the term on the front and the following two things on the back:
- the definition of the term (in your own words)
- a memory device - either an application of the term that is relevant or personal to you, OR a statement that connects the term to another idea, OR an example for that term, OR an image that represents the term
