Bee in the Know

Week of May 15, 2022

One more month until the last day of school. Can you believe it? Some days it feels like the weather needs a reminder that it's May, but every day brings us closer to the culmination of another fantastic school year.

We couldn't be more proud of our students this year. AP Testing is almost finished, just a few more tests to go this week, and we are in the middle of SOL testing. Prom is this coming weekend and we are SOLD OUT. Seniors, please be on the lookout for more information on the end of the year events and graduation details. Underclassmen, remember that May 31 is the deadline to make any changes to your course requests for next school year.

Congratulations again to Mr. Robbins

Congratulations to Todd Robbins, Spanish teacher, and World Languages department chair at Osbourn Park, for being a finalist in the division's 2022 Teacher of the Year Award! Not only is Mr. Robbins a great teacher and department chair, he also serves on the school's tech team, supporting his colleagues and students every chance he gets. He is also a DJ and will be showing his skills at OPHS' prom this year. Well-deserved and well done, Mr. Robbins!

2022 PWCS Signing Day

Seniors who have obtained full-time employment or have committed to military service, please complete this survey. PWCS would like to recognize and celebrate your accomplishments at the 2022 PWCS Signing Day. This event is similar to athletes signing letters of intent. This event will be held on May 25 at 5 p.m. at the Kelly Leadership Center (14715 Bristow Road, Manassas, Virginia 20112). Light refreshments will be provided. Questions? Please contact [email protected].

Seniors who earned Summa Cum Laude

On June 7, after exam dismissal, we will honor these impressive seniors who earned a 4.0 or above. They will be invited for lunch and sweet treats! They will get their Summa medal to wear at graduation at this time. This event is INVITATION ONLY! Students who qualify will receive an invitation via email and through P1 or P6/7 class in the coming weeks.

This is based on Semester 1 GPA. If you receive a 4.0 after final grades are due, you will be given your medal at Graduation Practice or on Graduation Day.

Final Transcripts

On Friday, June 10th, the Senior GPAs will be pulled and scheduled to upload that night into Naviance. Once approved by Central Office, final transcripts will be sent the following week by counselors.

Senior Exit Survey

Final Transcripts will be sent based on the Senior Survey that is to be completed in Naviance. Counselors will be working on the survey with Seniors through Government classes the week of May 23rd - 27th. If you wish to complete the survey now, please follow the instructions below. This survey can ONLY be filled out ONCE and cannot be altered unless you notify Mrs. Jaeger. For students who are not in government, are absent, or virtual, Mrs. Jaeger will catch-up with you. 3. From the drop-down menu, click on Surveys from Your School
  4. Click on Senior EXIT Survey

Seniors attending NOVA

NOVA Advising 100 group sessions are available for student registration. Advisors will review and finalize student schedules and help them register. The NighthawkREADY123FlyerFINAL.pdf includes the 1-2-3 Steps to Getting Started at NOVA (Enrollment Prep Presentation - New2NOVA Orientation - Advising 100). Prior to registering for this, students should have attended an Enrollment Prep Session (either virtually or at the HS), the NEW2NOVA orientation, and created a proposed schedule for the Fall semester.

Congrats on your Decision Day!

We hope all that came out had a BLAST! A video is soon to come of all the photos from that day. If you have not created your hexagon (either you did not attend Decision Day or did not make a decision yet), please see Mrs. Jaeger after school next week before 3:00pm to create your hexagon for the Class of 2022 Hive! College, career, military, gap year, whatever your choice may be, you are part of the hive and want to celebrate YOU!
