Last school year, I witnessed a very dangerous trend during AM student drop off. I would like to address this issue early to ensure a safe start to the new school year in hopes that we can maintain this safe practice throughout the school year.
The authorized student drop off/pick up area is the sidewalk beside the auditorium. When students are dropped off in any other location other that the authorized drop off area, student's safety is being jeopardized. Not only is student safety jeopardized, this dangerous act also causes traffic backups and potential accidents.
I totally understand how frustrating our student drop off area can be but we can't allow our frustration to endanger students, staff and other parents during this busy chaotic time. If you have any questions, comments or concerns; please feel free to email me at [email protected]. Let's have a safe school year. Thank you for your time.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT ENTERING THE SCHOOL GROUNDS IS 10 MPH

To maintain an optimal level of security during the arrival of students, the doors will not open until 7:00 am. At that time, students may proceed through either Door 1 or Door 37.
All students dropped off before 7:00 am must wait outside of the building.
Parents dropping students off are required to use the parent drop off lane located on the auditorium side of the building. Students will then be required to walk to Door 37.
Teachers who would like to meet with students prior to 7:00 am are required to contact school administration and/or security staff the day prior. Teachers are also responsible for meeting that student in the gym lobby and escorting the student to the room. That student should remain in your supervision until 7:00 am.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and support. This will improve the security of the school.
The school staff encourages students to stay after school if they are participating in supervised after-school activities. Students are not permitted to stay after school if they are not involved in a supervised activity. If a student is staying after school, he/she should report to the supervised activity by 2:15 p.m. and remain there until they are dismissed. Once students are dismissed, they should immediately vacate the building or wait in the front lobby for their transportation. The activity bus runs Tuesday and Thursday. Students who are riding the activity bus must have an Activity Bus Pass issued by the supervising teacher or staff member. Students are required to sign-in to ride the activity bus in the first floor cafeteria. Students who violate the Activity Bus Procedures/Agreement may have their bus privileges revoked or may be subject to disciplinary action.
As we begin a new school year, all students should remember that riding the school bus is a privilege. We expect that students will maintain excellent conduct in line with the Prince William County Public Schools Code of Behavior both in school and on the school buses. We look forward to welcoming all students back for a great school year.
