Bee in the Know

Week of October 17, 2021

Thank you to our teachers, students and parents for a week chock-filled with opportunities to communicate and to prepare for the future. Touchbase was a success, as many parents filled the halls and met with their students’ teachers to discuss their classes and what to expect in the next coming weeks. Most of our underclassmen also took the PSAT this past week, as well. The PSAT is a wonderful way to prepare for the SAT and it was so great to see our students giving their all to this very important assessment. As we complete the last few weeks of the first quarter, please encourage your students to keep up with their lessons, communicate with their teachers and stay after school for extra help when needed. It’s a crucial time and staying the course is so important.

College Application Help Sessions

Starting Thursday, October 21st, during lunches and after school, Mrs. Jaeger will be holding College Applications Help Sessions.  This time will be designated to working on college applications, scholarships, resumes, college essays or anything that is needed.  Whether you have questions, need to start applications, or just need a designated time to sit down and work on different post-high school plans, this time will be geared towards just that.

During the lunch sessions, it will be "Brown Bag Lunch" style where the cafeteria will provide a bag lunch, or you can bring your lunch to school that day and eat in the Career Center during your 25-minute lunch block.   After your 25-minute lunch block ends, you will need to return to class.

Over the course of the year, at least once a month, these sessions will be after school on a Tuesday or Thursday when activity buses are running, and during lunch periods.  For the after-school session, these will be from 2:10-3:30pm.  This will allow you time to also attend other after school events if needed.

These sessions will be announced ahead of time if you need to make any plans. Remember to bring your laptop and have something you need to be working on as you plan for life after high school.
