National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist

Congratulations to Alexandra Whalen for being a 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalist!

Students entered the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which serves as an initial screening.  Semifinalists are among the highest scoring entrants in each state.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of over 16,000 Semifinalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarships program.  The pool of semifinalists represents less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors.  These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million dollars that will ne offered next spring.  To be considered for a National Merit Scholarship award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the finalist level of the competition.
