Bee in the Know

Week of May 2, 2021

We are in the final stretch of the school year and we are gearing up for a strong finish to what has been an unusual year, to say the least. Things will go quickly as we prepare for SOLs, AP tests, and the end of the school year. We never stop being amazed by the resiliency of our students. They have adapted to remote learning, hybrid learning, new teachers, and new classmates. We have come so far over the past year, and we could not have done it without the willingness of our students, the determination of our staff, and the support from our families. Thank you for all you have done to help ensure our students continue to learn and grow.

Teacher Appreciation Week May 3-7

We love our teachers! Please take a moment to thank your student’s teachers during Teacher Appreciation week, May 3-7, via email or note. Teachers impact the lives of our students every day. Despite the many challenges of the pandemic and virtual instruction, our teachers are working hard to ensure that every student has the tools to be successful. We have treats in store for our teachers next week!

No Place for Hate School

Osbourn Park High School is thrilled to have earned the designation of an ADL's No Place for Hate School for the 2020-2021 school year. To earn this designation, a student lead committee, which includes faculty and parents, created and pushed out a climate survey to determine what aspects of bias and/or bullying needed to be addressed at Osbourn Park. Through various activities, all OPHS students participated in specialized lessons targeting cyberbullying and bias.

This is truly an extraordinary year to begin any new initiative, but the committee stepped up and took on various leadership roles without hesitation. We could not have achieved this amazing distinction without the committee and staff here at OPHS! We are looking forward to supporting an anti-bullying and anti-bias community next year!
