Bee in the Know

Week of November 1, 2020

We made it through the first quarter of virtual learning! I’d like to thank all teachers, students, and parents for your patience and understanding as we’ve navigated this brand new virtual learning environment together. We’ve learned a great deal thanks to valuable feedback from all stakeholders. As we begin the second quarter, we will continue to work together to make online learning a rich learning environment where students are able to find more comfort and success. Please take the first few days of this week to regroup and recharge for the second quarter so you can start out strong! Let’s try to be to class on time, with cameras on, ready to learn and work together!

What’s Good: Good News in the Virtual Learning Environment

“I must say, SEEING my students FACES finally, pretty much made my entire year so far!!!”

“Today we had some great participation for Red Ribbon Week. One student and her mom were both spotted wearing pink. Another student and her dad were both wearing their baseball caps. A student and his mom were both wearing matching Washington Capitals Championship hats and shirts. Mrs. Stewart saw that they had the Washington Capitals hat on, and she went to get hers as well. It was the first Triplet Day for me for Twin Day. I think we will have great participation this week!”

“AP Psychology students engaged in excellent discussions this past week! In the online discussion boards, they analyzed how adolescent brains develop, and whether these neurological changes should have any bearing on how teens are treated in the criminal justice system. I was impressed by the thoughtfulness of student's answers and how they continued to extend the online conversation!”

Let’s keep up the great work and have an awesome start to the 2nd quarter!
